Analyzing Spelling Errors in the September 1, 2022 Edition of the Tribun Padang Newspaper

Abstract

The problems discussed in this study take various forms of spelling errors in the Tribun Padang newspaper, published on September 1, 2022. The aim of this research is to describe the spelling errors in the language of the Tribun Padang newspaper, September 1, 2022 edition. This research uses qualitative description method because the main purpose of this research is to describe spelling errors. The results of this study found 16 cases of language spelling errors including: a) writing errors, b) punctuation errors, c) word errors, and d) affix errors. This is because the publisher or editor is not careful or careless in publishing the article. Another factor is the lack of mastery of language by the writers.
