The Use of Conjunctions in the Compass Newspaper

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to describe the use of conjunctions in the Kompas Newspaper. The data collected is the conjunction in the July 2021 edition of the Opinion section of the Kompas Newspaper. Based on the data collected, the Opinion in the July 2021 Edition of the Kompas Newspaper totals 12 titles. Data collection was carried out using note-taking techniques. Data analysis is done by classifying and identifying. From the data that has been processed, it is concluded that there are two conjunctions found in the Opinion of the July 2021 Edition of the Kompas Newspaper, namely coordinative and subordinating conjunctions. The tendency of the conjunction used is the subordinating conjunction.
